Easy run with the dog. 34 degrees at 5:30am. Feels like spring! Unfortunately it's a front. Should have held the winter series 10k today!

Thought you might be interested in this study about ITBS. Step width is how far apart (side to side) your feet land. Not sure how you run but if you do have a narrow step width, it might be something worth checking.

Thanks Andrea. I do have a fairly narrow step width. I'll try and focus on widening slightly on my next run. Although the article states that such gait retraining hasn't been studied and could cause other problems! It's still worth a try.

You know, sometimes it's good to just try out something a little different and see if it causes less pain. The last couple days I've been leaning forward just slightly more than usual (to activate the glutes more) and my hamstring pain has almost gone away. Little things can make a big difference. And maybe it will be worthless but why not, right?
